Job Description
Role: Junior Researcher
Salary: £20k p/a with 23 days holiday in addition to office closure over Christmas period
Location: Fulham
Hours: 37.5 hours per week (with occasional evening work)
Background:
So What Do You Think? is a boutique market research agency based in West London, specialising in media and financial research. We have a wide range of clients across a number of sectors who keep coming back to us for our innovative and informative research. The majority of our work is qualitative but with a healthy dose of quant involved as well – the split is about 70:30.
What’s the job?
We are looking for a Junior Researcher to join our team. You will learn the ropes from our senior members of staff and gradually become more involved in all aspects of research projects. You will help to organise, carry out, analyse and report the research – getting involved at all stages of the projects. There is also an element of administration and office management to the role which includes such tasks as stationery orders, basic filing and other little jobs.
Who are we looking for?
We are looking for an individual who does not necessarily have prior knowledge of the formal market research industry, but who has directly transferable skills from their university degree or a previous job. This role would suit a recent graduate with a good (2:1 +) degree and an enquiring mind. You should have a good brain for numbers and any statistical experience would be a bonus.
Importantly, you need to be an outgoing and friendly person who is happy talking in front of groups of people and who would feel confident leading them in focus group discussions. Full training will be given but you must be confident that you can excel in this field.
You will be very competent on the computer with strong powerpoint and excel skills alongside the other office programs.
You will work across a wide range of topics and so a broad range of interests – and the ability to quickly learn new ones – is crucial. A sharp and enquiring mind with a common-sense and pragmatic approach is also highly desirable.
Above all, we are a small company so you will need to be comfortable in that type of environment and be willing to pitch in wherever you are needed, as you learn the research industry from the ground up.
