Job Description

THE COMPANY AND SITUATION:

The world leader in the provision of software systems to the music and entertainment industry requires an energetic, ambitious administrator with previous sales experience to provide assistance and support to their existing Sales and Marketing function. This role is specifically for someone with the ambition and desire to progress up into a full Sales or Marketing role.


THE ROLE:

The role is a hybrid of both administration and sales. You will spend about 60% of your time on administration, for example administering and compiling reports, marketing information, client contact lists, marketing campaigns, etc. The other 40% of your time will be spent on the early stages of the sales process, i.e. identifying prospect companies in the media industry to target, cold-calling and attempting to make an initial appointment for the sales staff. You will be supporting three sales staff and keeping them as busy as possible!

Consequently, a significant part of this role is lead generation. We need someone who can handle lead generation from trade publications, the internet and databases and is not afraid of making 100 telephone calls per week.

Please be aware that this is a relatively junior role that will have full responsibility for some of the sales and marketing functions, we are not looking for a sales manager.


EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

Consequently, the experience and type of person we are looking for is as follows:

• At least 6 months previous experience in sales or marketing (telesales included)
• Previous experience in a marketing environment and hence a good understanding of the sales and marketing function within an organisation
• Experience of Microsoft Office
• Good administrative and research skills
• Good written and verbal communication skills. We’re serious on this one by the way – are you articulate enough to maintain the company’s relationship with senior managers in big-name clients in the entertainment world?
• Self-discipline: We’re looking for the same output from you whether your sales manager is sat next to you or out at a trade show all week
