The Advisory Services business is a fast-growing division, a dynamic group focused on providing high value independent, trusted advice to clients, with a focus on business transformation.
We are seeing increased demand for our services in the area of energy commodities trading; we are, indeed, currently working with a number of the big players in the UK and on mainland Europe. As a result we are looking for experienced professionals to join the team and work with us to develop and deliver our business in this area.
You will be expected to become a ‘trusted advisor’ with clients and provide strategic client side consulting experience in the work that you carry out. This could include strategic reviews, process and controls improvement and design, the definition of IT systems strategies and projects.
Typically the support we provide to our clients includes some or all of:
• Client side strategic consulting
• Programme management support for large programmes of change
• End to end process and controls assessment and definition – from trade capture through to risk and financial reporting
• The definition of system requirements
• The evaluation and selection of software packages
• Change management support for process and systems-enabled business change.
You will be able to demonstrate a comprehensive knowledge of energy industry operations, assets, markets and commodities, with specific experience in some of the following areas:
• Understanding of the energy trading business model – asset based, innovative, structured
• Playing leading role in process and controls improvement projects bringing insight and understanding across front, middle and back office
• Experience of Lean/Six sigma will be an advantage.
• Programme and project management
• IT application architectures
• Leadership of back office ERP integration projects e.g. SAP
• Proven experience of taking a leading role in IT enabled change programmes
Academic requirements:
• Primary degree (2:1) or above
• A post graduate degree or equivalent (MBA, finance or mathematics related) would be an advantage.
Client responsibilities:
• Participate in and, as required, lead requirements
• Manage financial aspects of client engagements and communicate significant issues, fees, and estimates to complete to partners and clients
• Support partners and directors with generating new business opportunities and building client networks and relationships.
People responsibilities;
• Develop people through effectively supervising, coaching, and mentoring all levels of staff
• Conduct performance reviews and contribute to performance feedback for all levels of staff
• Contribute to people initiatives including recruiting, retaining and training professionals
• Maintain an educational program to continually develop your own personal skill set.
