Programmer

£23,000 + Bonus
We are looking for a candidate who has 2 years previous experience as a programmer, who is looking for a new role and new challenges. Career progression and development are all available within the company and encouraged.
Job Role
The successful candidate will assist in the implementation of new systems, which more specifically includes the aspects given below.
Principal Tasks:
• Liaise with users to identify and specify business requirements from the systems and where appropriate from subsidiary systems.
• Develop and document detailed program specifications, to meet identified user needs and produce program documentation to required site standards.
• Write computer programs, to interface with the system and where appropriate with subsidiary systems, to meet documented program specifications using primarily SQL but possibly using other programming languages as necessary.
• Undertake testing of programs prior to release to the 'Live' system to ensure operation in accordance with agreed specifications and to the satisfaction of the users.
• Liaise with users to ensure a full understanding of the operation of the system and of how in-house developed programs operate to assist in users' understanding of the system.
• Assist as necessary with the resolution of any software difficulties being experienced with in-house programs or other 3rd party software.
• Undertake establishment, maintenance and documentation of the Departmental Procedure Manual and any other relevant manuals as required.
• Liaise with external suppliers and maintain business relationships with third parties as required.
Person Specification
Education and Qualifications
• Educated to GCSE level or equivalent (min. 4 at A-C grade)
Experience and Knowledge
• 2 Years previous programming experience
