Telephone Salesperson with Recruitment Experience – Ipswich, Suffolk

Salary: £20k Basic, £35k OTE

PLEASE NOTE: LOCATION IS WITHIN WALKING DISTANCE OF IPSWICH STATION AND THEREFORE COMMUTABLE FROM COLCHESTER, CHELMSFORD, NORWICH, LOWESTOFT AND ALL STATIONS FROM LIVERPOOL STREET.

THE COMPANY AND SITUATION:

One of the largest accountancy firms in the country has a successful and fast-growing division producing innovative web-based back office software such as Accounting, Timesheet Management, Billing and Payroll solutions. They are now seeking an ambitious person with recruitment experience who wishes to develop their career in sales, with ongoing training and support provided. Essentially, we are seeking an existing or former Recruitment Consultant who would like to try something different.


EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

For this role, the following experience is required:

• An absolute minimum of 1 year of commercial experience in recruitment, preferably on the temp/contractor side
• An absolute minimum of 1 year of commercial experience in business-to-business telephone sales (experience as a fee-earning Recruitment Consultant will suffice)
• Experience of selling at Director level/company proprietor level
• The communication skills to deal at director level with credibility
• A motivated self-starter

Please note the above attributes are essential. You require all of the above to be eligible for this role.

As for personal attributes, we are seeking an ambitious self-starter, someone who does not require constant supervision, someone who really wants to succeed, who is articulate enough to consult with Director-level clients, but tough enough to make 60 phone calls in a day! The sell, however, is very consultative; this is not a hard-core cold-calling role.


THE ROLE:

This position is focussed on their innovative mid-to back office solution for recruitment agencies. This role is primarily telephone sales as the intention here is to build relationships with prospective recruitment clients and then to sell company services based on their needs. The role can be varied however, as once a lead has been generated then you would then work strategically through the sales process with a sales manager and help bring the prospect through to successful closure. Your responsibilities will also include qualifying leads, understanding the process recruitment consultants use internally and then conducting online demonstrations.


THE OPPORTUNITY:

This is a growing company, whose implementation team has more than doubled over the last few months. After establishing yourself in internal telephone sales, your next step career-wise is to progress in to external field sales. The longer-term opportunities here are to move anywhere in the wider company, which is one of the largest accountancy firms in the UK.

This particular software division is a young company with significant opportunities for you to develop new markets and become involved in marketing campaigns, proposals and implementation.
