THE COMPANY:

The world leader in the provision of software solutions to the Music and Entertainment industry is seeking an individual to provide a professional first line support service to both clients and their internal client management team. For this they would prefer someone who aspires to expand their technical abilities. There is a very pleasant working environment here too – casual dress code, laid back and friendly atmosphere, but also hard-working and dynamic.

THE JOB:

This is for someone to handle the technical aspect of customer service and is a First Line Helpdesk Support and Call Logging position. There is a wide variety of tasks in the role however, from site & Citrix maintenance through database installations to client product upgrades.

Bear in mind that if you are a graduate and are therefore already specialising in networking or development, this role will NOT be suitable for you. Computing degrees tend to be specialist and this is not a specialist role, this is more generalist.

THE EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

The experience required for this job is as follows:

· Excellent communication skills: Articulate with a good telephone manner
· Experience with SQL Server 2000 and SQL Server 2005
· Experience or knowledge of Oracle
· Citrix experience
· Windows 2003 Administration experience

Please note the above experience is essential: You require all of the above in order to be eligible for this role. Desirable, though not essential are any of the following:

· Previous Helpdesk experience either in an I.T. department or for a software company.
· Any kind of SQL Qualification
· Previous Music or Entertainment industry experience


THE OPPORTUNITY:

The scope here is to grow from this helpdesk and call logging role into systems administration, including such tasks as FTP Server control, company web site maintenance & development, and batch analysis, as well as 2nd line support and client-site installation. This is a role in which you can grow technically and expand and develop your I.T. technical skills.

Overall, this is a lovely place to work. It’s a privately-owned company and feels more like a family company, not at all institutionalised,- everyone has a stake, everyone has a say. Being music and entertainment it’s an interesting industry to work in too. The large number of people I have placed here who are still there years later are testament to this!
