THE COMPANY AND SITUATION:
One of the biggest names in the world of professional services requires those skilled in Data Analytics for their Forensic Technology division. The role involves both the use of technical skills and client contact to produce analytics work, proofs of concept or data-oriented managed services to clients in a wide variety of industry sectors. This is where much of the early stages work takes place in fraud detection and other data-driven projects. These are new positions as the team has been very successful, is currently experiencing a large demand for its services and hence is required to expand rapidly.
THE ROLE:
This is a client-facing role, where you will be interacting with the client from the initial consultation right through to delivery of results. The crux of the role is the manipulation, analysis and modelling of complex data and transformations in order to deliver a Business Intelligence solution to support optimal decision-making. This will also include the querying, profiling, implementation and quality testing of data.
THE EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Absolutely essential for this role is experience in the following:
• A degree in either I.T. or a numerate subject
• Commercial consulting experience: You must have experience of working for a consultancy, software house or service provider consulting to external end-user clients.
• Experience in data extraction, cleansing & manipulation
• Experience in SAS Data Manipulation Software
• Experience with SQL in either Oracle or SQL Server
• Handling large data volumes including efficiency and scalability concepts
Please note the above are essential: You require all of the above to be eligible for this role.
It will also enhance your chances if you possess experience in as many of the following as possible:
• Knowledge of statistical techniques and analysis (such as regression, clustering and sampling)
• Experience of ETL (as in Extract, Transform and Load – ETL in the Data Warehousing context)
• OLAP
• Experience of the full SDLC (software development lifecycle)
• Relational and/or dimensional data modelling/data warehousing
• Data linking/fuzzy matching techniques
• Accounting or audit experience
• ERP (SAP, Baan, PeopleSoft, JD Edwards, Oracle Applications)
Desirable, but not essential, is previous experience in Forensic or Fraud-related work
